"Owner Michael Pate got his start hawking produce at a roadside fruit stand at age 14. He eventually left and took a job at a cotton mill, but didn't take long for him to get back in the game. He used his first paycheck from the cotton mill to buy peaches and started his own farm stand. 

He was 17 years old. He's been working ever since."

What was before Reilly Road Farmers Market (Produce Market) and Carolina Market (Garden Nursery) have been combined to create what it's now Pate's Farm Market.
